What are the differences between a TDS820 (STD) and a TDS820 with option 1D?

Question :

What are the differences between a TDS820 (STD) and a TDS820 with option 1D?

Answer :

The TDS820 in its standard configuration has internal delay lines and trigger pickoffs which enables the TDS820 to have internal triggers. With the internal delay lines, the BW is 6Ghz.

A TDS820, option 1D, has the internal delay lines removed. This improves the BW from 6Ghz to 8Ghz. However, there internal trigger function no longer works. A trigger source needs to be applied to the external trigger input.
