During repair periods, Gold Care customers are entitled to a free loaner unit that is of equal or higher performance as the product being repaired. To minimize downtime, loaner units are shipped within 48 hours of the initiation of service. The Tektronix Gold Care Plan provides a seamless ownership experience without incurring additional service-related costs over the plan coverage period.

Gold Care can be ordered at time of instrument purchase or anytime throughout the life of the instrument.

Priority Care

Gold Care customers receive priority access to the Tektronix global network of customer call centers, staffed by technical experts.

Repair costs for electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical overstress (EOS) events are handled free of charge. 2

To further reduce downtime, Gold Care instruments are placed at the front of the queue once they reach our service center.

Products are returned in like-new condition. When necessary, a factory certified calibration is included at no additional charge.

Compliance

All repair work includes any calibration and adjustments necessary to restore your instrument to published accuracy specifications, ensuring that all measurement results can be trusted. Calibrations are performed under ISO 9001:2015 Registered Quality System and in compliance with metrology standards:

  • ANSI/NCSL Z540.1-1994(R2002)

Notes:

  1. All Factory Service Plans are subject to the Terms and Conditions located at: Terms and Conditions | Tektronix
  2. Factory Verified Calibration will include firmware updates and adjustment if needed. Any 17025 Accredited calibrations are not included and will be upcharged. Some products cannot be calibrated and will receive a functional verification.  In certain global service centers we can only perform a standard calibration on certain products without the adjust. Pre-paid calibration plans are set based on manufacturer s recommended calibration interval. Accredited capability may differ based on lab location, upcharges may apply. Contact your local service center for more details. 
  3. Damage from user-caused EOS and ESD is limited to 2x per year per device 
  4. Accidental damage can include drops, water damage, dust accumulation, humidity damage, etc… limited to 2x per year per device. Loaners are subject to availability - Tektronix will make reasonable efforts to obtain and provide loaned equipment to customers. We will make every effort to provide a loaner of equal or better value compared to the equipment in for service 
  5. Gold Care service plans may not be available in certain geographies and are only available on certain products 
  6. Sampling modules will not get a loaner unit unless covered by Gold Care and will not get a loaner for accidental damage 
  7. All existing GOLDLITE Service Contracts will fall under the same coverage features as Total Product Protection - for guidance on which plan is right for you contact your local service center or sales person

 

General Shipping statement: 
Return shipping charges may be covered under Standard Product Warranty and under service contracts. Local service labs may have regional policies on coverage of shipping charges. Contact your local service center for details.

Ordering Information

Gold Care can be added as an option using the ordering nomenclature below with selected Tektronix instruments.

Option Description
Opt. G3 3 year Gold Care Plan includes expedited repair of all product failures including ESD and EOS, access to a loaner product during repair or advance exchange to reduce downtime, and priority access to Customer Support among other benefits.
Opt. G5 5 year Gold Care Plan includes expedited repair of all product failures including ESD and EOS, access to a loaner product during repair or advance exchange to reduce downtime, and priority access to Customer Support among other benefits.

1     Plan Guarantees 90% immediate loaner availability or 99% availability within 5 days.
2     Damage caused by electrostatic discharge (“ESD”) or electrical over stress (“EOS”) not to exceed 3 repairs per equipment per year.
