SignalVu-PC
Spectrum analyzer software for Windows, tablets, or oscilloscopes
SignalVu-PC spectrum analyzer software uses the same signal analysis capabilities found in the RSA5000 Series real-time signal analyzers but runs on your computer, tablet, or MSO/DPO Oscilloscope with Windows 7/8/10 Intel i5 or i7 64-bit operating system.
With the 5 Series/6 Series/6 Series B MSO, you may choose to install SignalVu-PC directly on the Windows 10 SSD of the oscilloscope (opt. 5/6-WIN required).Live acquisitions from Tektronix real-time spectrum analyzers and Tektronix MDO/MSO/DPO Oscilloscopes, can be recalled and analyzed with SignalVu-PC, adding deep analysis capabilities to these broadband acquisition systems.
Once captured into memory, SignalVu-PC spectrum analyzer software provides detailed analysis in multiple domains. The spectrogram display (bottom left panel) shows the frequency of an LFM Pulse changing over time. By selecting the point in time in the spectrogram during the On time of the pulse, the chirp behavior can be seen as it sweeps from low to high (upper right panel).
With SignalVu-PC
Connect (CON-SVPC), you can connect and analyze signals online (live) with
SignalVu-PC using the 5 Series/6 Series/6 Series B MSO (with option SV-RFVT),
or MDO4000 Oscilloscope.

Spectrum analyzer software for EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing
SignalVu-PC spectrum analyzer software now supports EMC pre-compliance testing with EMCVu. EMCVu is an all-in-one software solution for EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing and troubleshooting that runs on your own PC. This gives you an easy, fast, accurate and affordable way to determine if your product designs are ready to submit to the test house for EMI/EMC radiation emission compliance testing. This is done through push button support for multiple standards, automated multiple measurement/multiple format reporting, ambient noise calibration and comparison, harmonic markers and faster scans using peak detector and spot measurements with quasi-peak and average detector failures.
Optional applications tailored for your RF applications
The basic SignalVu-PC free spectrum analyzer software enables spectrum analysis, RF power and statistics, spectrograms, amplitude, frequency and phase vs. time, and analog modulation measurements. Applications are available for P25, Bluetooth, LTE, Mapping, Playback of recorded files, WLAN, settling time, audio, modulation, pulse, and OFDM analysis. Wideband satellite and point-to-point microwave links can be directly observed with SignalVu-PC spectrum analyzer software. Settling time measurements (SVT) are easy and automated. The user can select measurement bandwidth, tolerance bands, reference frequency (auto or manual), and establish up to 3 tolerance bands vs. time for Pass/Fail testing. Settling time may be referenced to external or internal trigger, and from the last settled frequency or phase.

Spectrum analyzer software FAQs
What is a spectrum analyzer used for?
A spectrum analyzer is used to measure the power of the spectrum of known and unknown signals. These test instruments measure the amplitude of an input signal versus frequency within the full frequency range of the instrument.
What is spectrum analyzer software?
Software for spectrum analyzers is a
common tool used by radio frequency (RF) engineers. It allows you to control
the acquisition, processing, and display of the spectral content of acquired
signals (RF waveforms), and to facilitate further analysis and measurements.
What is spectrum analyzer software used for?
Regardless of the instrument used for the signal data acquisition (signal or spectrum analyzers or oscilloscopes input channels), spectrum analyzers software enables the analysis and validation of signals involved in RF design circuits. After transforming the time signal into the frequency domain, the software allows you to represent it in several ways to make accurate measurements. Modern instruments are often used for advanced mmWave applications analysis, including 5G New Radio signal analysis, Wideband radar and pulsed RF signals, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, Commercial Wireless, EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing and debugging, and many more.
What is the difference between a spectrum analyzer and an oscilloscope?
Oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers are two of the most important instruments on any bench. While a spectrum analyzer is used to gather frequency information, oscilloscopes are used to measure how signals change over time. The combination of the two instruments allows engineers to characterize a signal.
Is a spectrum analyzer the same as FFT?
Spectrum analyzers are specifically designed for viewing signals in the frequency domain, but because they are not always readily available, oscilloscopes have traditionally used the FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) algorithm to view the frequency spectrum of a signal. However, FFTs are notoriously difficult to use and difficult to view accurately. While our oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers support standard FFT, they utilize a new, more advanced architecture for spectrum analysis.
