質問:

What does "Active Video Width" mean in the WFM700?

回答:

Active Video Width specifies the number of bits used to represent each color sample in an SDI stream. More bits will produce a richer color depth; specifically a 10-bit system has 4 times the range of colors as an 8-bit system.

Normally, SDI uses a 10-bit width but some older equipment still only generates 8-bit data and then zero-pads that to 10-bits. The WFM700 is designed to detect this zero-padding and report it as 8-bit active video width instead of 10-bit.

Both 8-bit and 10-bit active video widths are acceptable though 10-bits are preferable.
