質問:
Is there a PCI upgrade for the PDMA-16 or PDMA-32?
回答:
There are no exact replacements for the PDMA boards in PCI form factor, however, a couple of the KPCI boards may be suitable:
- For applications which require digital input, the KPCI-3101 is an excellent choice. This multifunction board has a total of 23 lines of digital I/O. Sixteen of these lines can be read at a rate controlled by the on board clock. The sixteen lines are read as a single WORD into the FIFO normally used to buffer A/D conversions. Deterministic rates up to 3MHz are supported. The DriverLINX driver supports operation in Windows 98 to Windows XP.
- For applications which require digital output, the KPCI-3140 board is a good choice. This Counter/Timer board also has 32 lines of digital I/O. The on board pacer clock of the KPCI-3140 allows the digital channels to be read or written to at a known rate under Interrupt control. Rates up to 200KHz have been achieved, however, at these high rates some jitter is seen as Windows is asked to process other tasks in parallel. The DriverLINX driver supports operation in Windows 98 to Windows XP.
NOTE: DriverLINX uses Windows' messaging to exchange buffers of data between the hardware and the controlling application. Message processing rates does not allow for real time control. In the case of the KPCI-3101, the data will be read at a deterministic time controlled by the pacer clock, but your application will not have that data made available for analysis and response until the message has been dispatched and processed by your application.
