Reliable and easy-to-use software to enhance the remote education experience
Tektronix offers a range of efficient and intuitive remote education solutions that combine with our oscilloscopes, DMMs, data acquisition systems, or other tools to help students put engineering theory into practice. Designed to ensure your students are well prepared to succeed in the electrical and computer engineering industries, our remote education solutions offer:
- Real time, hands-on experience for either on campus or virtual learning
- Real-time measurements with remotely-controlled instruments
- Offline analysis of waveform measurements for easy, collaborative sharing
Remote Teaching with eScope
Many Tektronix oscilloscopes feature eScope, a free, I-P based capability that enables remote access and control of the instrument with just a mouse and a keyboard. With eScope, professors can remotely setup the lab instrument, and students can make measurements from their dorm room or other remote location with an exact replica of the oscilloscope screen in their browser.
Virtual Front Panel
Virtual Front Panel enables many Keithley digital multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems, source measure units, and more to be remotely accessed and controlled. Using Virtual Front Panel, lab managers and engineering professors can teach students to use a wide range of industry-standard test and measurement instruments even when they’re not in the classroom.
On and Offline Remote Analysis with TekScope
Combining remote access and control of instruments with robust analysis of up to 16 analog channels, TekScope is a powerful tool to give students practical experience with industry-standard oscilloscopes. Professors can even augment a basic scope by adding additional analysis functions like bus decode packages. Once measurements have been analyzed, TekScope lets professors easily share data with students.
TekDrive Collaborative T&M Data Workspace
TekDrive is the first of its kind oscilloscopeto-cloud software solution for instant data sharing and recall on an oscilloscope, PC, phone, or tablet. It provides a secure location to store, share, and collaborate on waveform and analysis data. Visualize data on a browser and easily collaborate on projects with colleagues, students, or professors.
IoT Data Streaming and Visualization Dashboard
Our data streaming dashboards are a powerful tool for remote education. Professors can stream data directly from Keithley digital multimeters and data acquisition systems to customizable online dashboards and remotely monitor ongoing tests from any connected device, including smartphones. These dashboards can be used to share data with students and set up SMS or email triggers and alerts at relevant measurement thresholds.
Remote Data Management
ScopeSnap is a remote data management application that can be accessed on any connected device— including a smartphone. When paired with a 5 Series oscilloscope, ScopeSnap lets users easily grab and share data, including waveforms, setups, measurements, and screenshots. ScopeSnap is currently in beta testing and works exclusively with the 5 Series MSO. Register for the beta version.
Resources for Educators
Today's remote technologies have become essential to ensuring a faster, more accurate, and more efficient future for engineering education. Tektronix is committed to partnering with universities around the globe in preparing the next generation of engineers for success.
