I have two GPIB-VXI/C GPIB Slot 0 controllers. How do I set the GPIB address of the second GPIB controller?

Answer :

Information on how to perform this change is provided in the "Change Configuration Information" paragraph of section 4 in the National Instruments GPIB-VXI/C User Manual. These are the basic steps to make the needed changes.

  1. Connect an ANSI terminal or emulation program to the Slot-0 serial port.
  2. Set the communication protocol for 9600,8,N,1
  3. Power up the VXIbus mainframe.
  4. At the prompt, enter "CONF".
  5. Select #3.
  6. Select #6.
  7. Change GPIB Primary Address to 2 (or what ever you prefer).
  8. Select "Q".
  9. Select #5.
  10. Select #6.
