Ohms: What is AUTO or MANUAL mode when measuring Resistance with a 2400?

Question :

Ohms: What is AUTO or MANUAL mode when measuring Resistance with a 2400?

Answer :

What is the difference between Auto and Manual mode for resistance in the Model 2400?

The AUTO resistance measuring mode of the Model 2400 configures the unit to source current, measure voltage and calculate resistance. The magnitude of the source current is selected automatically by the resistance range, much like a typical Digital Multimeter.

The MANUAL resistance measuring mode of the Model 2400 allows the user to select a source of voltage or a source of current. If current is sourced then voltage is measured. If voltage is sourced then current is measured. The value of the source is also user defined. This mode allows very tight control over the resistance measurement.
