Question :
On the AWG2000 series+ if I select the FG mode+ what is the maximum frequency that can be selected?
Answer :
In FG mode the AWG is outputting pre-defined waveform data. To maintain a minimum level of waveform quality there is a limit of 100 points per cycle, depending on the model. This means that the maximum clock rate of the instrument would be divided by 100 to determine the maximum frequency of a function generator mode waveform. See table below.
Model | Max Clock | Max FG freq. |
AWG2005 | 20 MHz | 200 KHz |
AWG2020 | 250 MHz | 2.5 MHz |
AWG2021 | 250 MHz | 2.5 MHz |
AWG2040 | 1 GHz | 10 MHz |
AWG2041 | 1 GHz | 10 MHz |
