After sending the CURVE? query why do I only get 5000 points even though the record length is more than 5000 points?

It is possible the DATA:STOP value is set to 5000 which is a common default value. When transferring data from the oscilloscope the user must specify a DATA:START and DATA:STOP value or the default values will be used.
