Why can't I save my 1 Meg waveform onto the 1.44 Meg floppy disk?

Question :

Why can't I save my 1 Meg waveform onto the 1.44 Meg floppy disk?

Answer :

Each point of waveform data on any of the AWG generators takes 2 bytes of memory/disk space. This is because of the 12 bits per waveform point, plus marker data. This 2 byte requirement holds true even with an AWG2040 or 2041 which are both 8 bit resolution because of 2 extra bits to save the marker data and also to maintain file structure compatibility with the 12 bit AWGs.
