When connecting the audio from TSG95 to the WFM90 series or to the VM700T+ the audio level reads high. Why?

Question :

When connecting the audio from TSG95 to the WFM90 series or to the VM700T+ the audio level reads high. Why?

Answer :

The TSG95 audio level is specified into a 600 Ohm load.  The load of the WFM90 or VM700T is >15 K ohms and the impedance mismatch results in the audio reading about 1dB high.

The solution is to add a 600 Ohm resistor across pins 2 and 3 in the audio cable XLR connector that goes to the WFM90 or VM700T.  This is shown in theTSG95 service manual in the performance verification procedure.
