What is Source Bypass and Source Acceptor in the Model 7001 and 7002?

Question :

What is Source Bypass and Source Acceptor in the Model 7001 and 7002?

Answer :

What is Source Bypass and Source Acceptor in the Model 7001 and 7002?

The Source Bypass feature allows a one time "bypass" of the event detection layer in the trigger model. This means that when passing through the layer (ARM, SCAN or CHANNEL) the first time, the event detection portion is ignored and the lower layer actions take place. This is useful to start off a scan cycle without waiting for the event the first time through the layer. This is especially helpful when handshaking with a DMM. The 700x switch can enter it's first channel setting and then output it's trigger pulse when flowing out of the SCAN or ARM layer to handshake with a DMM or other device.

The Source Acceptor feature stops the flow through the layer (ARM, SCAN or CHANNEL) at the event detection node. It stops at this node and waits for the selected event. The event could be Timer, External, GPIB, Manual, Triglink, Immediate or Hold.
