What does the Horizontal Reference Point do?

Question :

What does the Horizontal Reference Point do?

Answer :

The Horizontal Reference Point has the following uses:

  • The Horizontal Position value is the time between Time Zero and the Horizontal Reference Point. The Horizontal Reference Point provides a visual reference to this value
  • The Horizontal Reference Point is the center point for the display as the Time/Div setting is changed. Therefore, if the Horizontal Reference Point is positioned to a key part of the waveform you are observing (such as a rising edge) you will not need to re-position the waveform when the Time/div setting is changed.
