The readouts on this instrument are not visible. How can the brightness be increased when Config menu is not viewable?

The 1740A/1750A/1760 waveform monitor/vectorscopes can have the brightness of the alphanumeric readouts adjusted such that all readout including the Configuration menus are invisible. Which makes it impossible to read the CRT submenu in the Config menu to increase the brightness so that menus are visible. Even though the menus are invisible when the readout intensity is too low the control buttons and knobs still work. To increase the brightness of the readouts push the "CRT" button in the lower right corner of the front panel. Push the top white button just to the right of the display screen ONCE. In the row of knobs below the display screen turn the second knob from the right in the clockwise direction. Keep turning the knob until the readouts become visible, adjust for best readability.
