I have a situation where I am missing data. My trigger rate is 30 Hz but I seem to be missing every other trigger. Could this be possible? Is there a work-around?

Question :

Answer :

The design of the time base for the 11400 does have this characteristic. The re-arm signal for the time base comes from one of two sources: another trigger event, or a re-arm signal from the holdoff circuitry. The work-around for missing triggers is to set the trigger holdoff to a value that is about 1.5 times the acquisition window. That is, if the time per division is 5 msec, set the holdoff to about 80 msecs (5 msecs times 10 divisions plus 5 msecs times 5). This should allow you to capture every trigger event.
