Question :
How do I shield my high impedance device from electrostatic fields?
Answer :
A shield can be built to enclose the device under test. A simple metal box or meshed screen that encloses the test circuit should be sufficient. For electrometer measurements, the shield is connected to the LO input terminal. For an SMU, the shield is connected to the OUTPUT LO terminal. If the shield is connected to the guard terminal of the SMU, then the device should be enclosed in a second grounded shield for safety purposes.
