Question :

Answer :

In order to activate an external monitor via the Secondary Video SVGA output you will need to go into the BIOS during startup. Press F2 to go into BIOS (during boot) and go to the advanced menu. Go down to "Silicon Motion Simulscan" and enable it. The monitor will not automatically turn on at startup. Right click on the desktop and select properties -> Settings. Next select monitor 1 (secondary monitor). Select "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" and apply changes. There is an application note called Analyze Data Faster with Dual Display Support that gives an excellent explanation of this.
