Question :
Do any of the WFM series waveform monitors work with ASI?
Answer :
None of our waveform monitors are designed to decode MPEG data; for that we recommend one of our dedicated MPEG analyzers such as the MTM400 or MTS430. However, due to the electrical similarities between SD-SDI and ASI signals, many of our waveforms monitors equipped with eye and jitter measurement capabilities such as the WFM601, WFM700 or WFM7100 can look at the physical layer properties of an ASI signal as well. Automated measurements of EYE and Jitter are not supported, however manual cursor measurements can be done.
The following is a document showing how to use the WFM601 series for ASI.
