Tektronix WFM8300 Waveform Monitor Receives 2015 Cable Spotlight Product of the Year Award
Editors of Cable Spotlight Honor WFM8300 for Important Role in Helping Cable Operators, Video Service Providers Transition to 4K/UHD
BEAVERTON, Ore., July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix, a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced today that the WFM8300 waveform monitor has received a 2015 Cable Spotlight Product of the Year Award from Cable.TMCnet.com, a TMC sponsored cable technology website. The award honors the most innovative cable technology solutions available in 2015. Applications were evaluated and awarded by the editors of Cable Spotlight.
The WFM8300 waveform monitor, with quad-3G-SDI inputs and new field-upgradable software, offers a comprehensive monitoring and measurement solution for quad-link 4K/UHD formats for such applications as camera lineup, color grading, color correction, content QC (quality control), and facility maintenance applications.
In order to make the platform future-proof, the WFM8300 waveform monitor was designed with an internal architecture that can handle 4K data rates enabling implementation of 4K/UHD formats support as an existing product upgrade. This effectively eliminates the need to incur the unnecessary capital expenses of having to purchase new monitoring equipment when transitioning to 4K/UHD.
"We are honored that WFM8300 has received a 2015 Cable Spotlight Product of the Year Award," said Charlie Dunn, general manager, Video Product Line, Tektronix. "The WFM8300 waveform monitor allows cable operators and other video service providers to make the transition to 4K as seamlessly and cost-effectively as possible."
"It is my pleasure to recognize Tektronix with a Cable Spotlight Product of the Year Award for its contribution to the advancement of cable technology solutions," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "I look forward to seeing more innovation from Tektronix in the coming year."
