Tektronix Releases New Precision Single-Phase Power Analyzer Series

Every day, engineers developing power supplies face new demands for greater energy efficiency, lower line pollution and reduced energy consumption. As new semiconductor technologies such as Gallium Nitride and Silicon Carbide emerge to meet these demands, new test and measurement tools are critical for keeping pace.

Which is why today at Tektronix we’re excited to announce the release of the PA1000 single-phase power analyzer, a valuable expansion to our family of precision power analyzers! Featuring a patent-pending Spiral Shunt™ design, the PA1000 provides engineers with accurate power measurements in the shortest possible time. How so? The PA1000 features one-button application modes and intuitive menu system that enable optimum instrument set up in seconds. Additionally, with the included Tektronix PWRVIEW PC software it features  a full compliance IEC62301 standby power certificate that provides comprehensive reporting features.

Offering the best performance in its class, the PA1000 features 0.05% basic accuracy and 1 MHz measurement bandwidth. Each PA1000 includes two internal current shunts — one for current measurements up to 1 Amp, for precise low-current measurements, and another for current measurements up to 20 Amps. (The 1 Amp shunt is particularly useful for maintaining measurements resolution and accuracy on demanding low-current signals common to standby power testing)

With one-button access to measurement results, power waveforms, harmonic bar graphs and menus, the full-color graphics display makes setup and other tasks simple and intuitive. Application-specific test modes for lamp ballast testing, standby current and energy integration save engineers time and reduce mistakes by simplifying optimization of instrument settings. And the Tektronix PWRVIEW PC software further simplifies testing with one-click test automation for compliance-test applications.

Included Standard with the  PA1000 are  LAN, USB and GPIB interfaces, harmonic analysis and the PWRVIEW PC software – elements that typically cost extra on most analyzers. Plus, a five-year warranty and Tektronix worldwide support and service add provide engineers with additional peace of mind.
