Question: When we try to read the measurements from our 2450 instrument it causes any output voltage to automatically be 1.154 volts into a DMM, which is below the programmed value.
Answer: There is a condition on 24xx series SMUs called ‘range compliance’.
Compliance, or limit, is designed to prevent excessive power supplied to the DUT.
You set your current limit in the source settings, but what is the measurement range?
If this is low (defaults to 10nA), then it will limit the source voltage. This should show as a limit warning on the SMU, despite the limit setting being well above the expected value.
If you haven’t, please try to also set the measure range to agree with your limit.
