Does Tektronix have any documentation on what the Co-site pulse is intended to test? Is it intended just to show chrominance and luminance are aligned in a digital signal+ or is there another video parameter it is intended to measure?

Answer :

We do not have any documents relative to the Co-siting pulse. The whole intention is to provide a pulse in the center of the screen that shows the timing relationship of chroma and luma samples. It is a one sample wide pulse, and when converted to analog component with the channels overlaid, you would see three separate amplitude pulses. Different amplitudes are used to be able to distinguish the different channels.
