Question: How do Tektronix oscilloscopes handle multiple errors or events?
Answer: There are also two queues, which are like stacked registers. Queues can store many pieces of information by stacking them up. The queues are FIFO or “first-in, first-out”, so the first time you read it you get the oldest message. Reading a message from the queue will remove it, so as you keep reading the queue you eventually remove all the messages. When the queue is empty you get a message saying there are no more messages.
ALLEv? Returns all events and their messages.
*ESR? Returns the contents of the Standard Event Status Register.
EVENT? Returns event code from the event queue.
EVMsg? Returns event code, message from the event queue.
