Creating Calibrated UWB WiMedia Signals

To maintain the integrity of signals over the whole band, pre-distorting the waveform becomes necessary, therefore the need to calibrate the whole system. This application note details the steps needed for signal path calibration when applied to UWB signal generation using direct RF signal generation and IF signal generation with an up-converter. Solutions such as the AWG Series arbitrary waveform generators with RFXpress software tools are demonstrated.
