excellent scope for mixed signal analysis

We work with serial buses, such as I2C. We have the optional Embedded software module for our MSO4034B and it has been invaluable in analyzing problems where we need to search or trigger on bus data.
The overall physical quality of the scope is very good, probes and accessories as well as the scope itself. The communication interfaces are well placed and work quite well.

We had an MSO4000 (pre "B") in the lab for several years. The only thing we wished it could do that it couldn't was Ethernet decode. While we were initially a little annoyed that we needed to get a new MSO4000B to get that feature, the MSO4000B is much snappier (faster processor in there, I guess?) with twice the memory. That processing boost makes decode of buses in deep memory much faster than the previous version.
The original MSO4000 was a fantastic tool. Putting four buses and a couple analog traces on such a big screen makes it amazingly easy to see problems or even just to verify that your design is doing what you expect it to. We've used the COMP, EMBD, and AUTO modules and they are super intuitive and very full featured.
Bottom line: excellent tool. If embedded application design or debug is your thing, you can't beat the MSO4000B.
