Introduction
------------
Welcome to the installation instructions for the CR Software, which includes the SDK and
the CR User Interface Software.  This installation guide covers the installation of both
or either of these CR software products as well as CR USB driver installation.

Warnings
--------
• Do not attempt to install on a BERTScope.  Installing on top of existing BERTScope
software could cause the BERTScope software to stop working properly.
• Please disconnect the 80A07 BERTScope CR from the PC on which you will be installing
the CR software until the installation is complete.
• If you have the CR Firmware Update Utility version 1.0 installed on the computer on
which you wish to install the CR Software, please uninstall it first and install the
latest version (version 2.0).
• If you have any other previous installations of 80A07 BERTScope software (i.e. an old
version configured to run on a laptop), please uninstall it before proceeding with this
installation.

Installation
------------

The following instructions would take you through the 80A07 CR Software Installation steps.

1.  Invoke the executable "Setup_CR_Tek_90.exe
2.  Click on the ‘Next’ button in the ‘Welcome to Setup’ dialog
3.  Choose the ‘Typical Setup’ in the ‘Setup Option’ dialog to install both the CR SDK and
CR User Interface Software.  ‘Compact Setup’ is the same as Typical.  Choosing ‘Custom Setup’
will allow you to select only one of the two products
4.  Click on the ‘Next’ button in the ‘Setup Option dialog
5.  Please leave the default directory, "C:\Program Files\TekApplications\80A07 Clock Recovery
Control", as the destination and click on the ‘Next’ button
6.  Click on the ‘Next’ button in the ‘Completing the Setup for the 80E07’dialog
7.  Click on the ‘Next’ button in the ‘Updating your System’ dialog
8.  Click on the ‘Finish’ button in the ‘Completing the InstallWare Wizard’ dialog

80A07 BERTScope CR USB Driver Installation
-------------------------------------------
The 80A07 BERTScope CR USB drivers must be installed the first time an 80A07 BERTScope CR is
connected to a particular USB port.
80A07 BERTScope CR USB driver installation under Microsoft Windows 2000 is fully automated,
requiring only that the user connect and power-up the new device. The next section details
the installation of the 80A07 BERTScope CR USB drivers under Windows XP.

Windows XP Driver Installation
------------------------------
When you connect and power-on an 80A07 BERTScope CR for the first time under Windows XP,
The ‘Found New Hardware Wizard, Welcome’ dialog automatically pops up. The following
instructions would take you through this installation.
1.  Select the ‘No, not this time’ radio button in the ‘Found New Hardware Wizard‘
then press the ‘Next’ button to continue.
2.  Select the ‘Install the software automatically (Recommended)’ radio button in the
‘Found New Hardware Wizard, Device ID’ dialog, identifying the new device as a
‘SyntheSys Research BERTScopeCR’ then press the ‘Continue Anyway’ button
3.  Windows XP may display a  ‘Hardware Installation’ dialog that alerts that SyntheSys Research
BERTSCopeCR logo has not passed Windows Logo testing. Press the ‘Continue Anyway’ button.
4.  Press the ‘Finish’ button in the ‘Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard’ to complete installation.

Uninstalling the 80A07 CR Software
----------------------------------
To uninstall the 80A07 CR Software, go to Add/Remove programs or run the installer executable again.
Select Uninstall and follow the prompts in the wizard.

Uninstalling the 80A07 BERTScope CR USB Drivers
-----------------------------------------------
You probably do NOT want to uninstall the drivers, especially if you plan to continue to use the 8000
Series Sampling Oscilloscope or PC to control the 80A07 BERTScope CR.

If, however, you have used your laptop PC (for example) to control the 80A07 BERTScope CR -- and wish
to clean up completely afterward -- follow the instructions below:

1.  Connect and power-on the 80A07 BERTScope CR.
2.  Execute the "Uninstall.cmd" file, found in your ‘C:\Program Files\TekApplications\80A07 Clock
Recovery Control\BERTScopeCR\Driver’ directory.
3.  Hit any key to continue when prompted by the uninstall script.
4.  Hit the ‘Yes’ button on the ‘Uninstall Driver Package’ dialog, when it appears, to complete the
uninstall process.
5.  Power-Off and disconnect the 80A07 BERTScope CR.

It is now safe to delete the entire installation tree
( ‘C:\Program Files\TekApplications\80A07 Clock Recovery Control\*’, by default).

Instructions

TDS/CSA8000, TDS/CSA8000B, TDS/CSA8200, DSA8200 Series Clock Recovery Control
v9.0 for instruments and PC running the Windows 2000/XP Professional Operating System

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.  If you are connected to the internet directly from your instrument
or you would like to install the drivers onto your personal computer, go
to step 3. If you are using a personal computer and will be installing
the drivers on your instrument, select the Save option.  This
will save the Setu0p_CR_Tek_90.exe executable to a location on your computer.

2.  Transfer the Setu0p_CR_Tek_90.exe to your instrument.
Double click on the Setu0p_CR_Tek_90.exe to install
the program and go to step 4.

3.  Select the Run option. This will download, unpack the installation files,
and launch the installer.

4.  Follow the prompts to install/unintall the Clock Recovery Control and
SDK Development Kit. For detailed instructions on how to install the
software, read the instructions in the Release Notes document.

Congratulations, you have installed the Clock Recovery Control software
