BERTScopePC Software V 10.9.1024

The BERTScope PC software provides for PC control of BERTScope Clock Recovery (CR125A, CR175A, CR286A) and Digital Pre-Emphasis Processor (DPP125, DPP125B) instruments that are being operated as stand-alone instruments, i.e. not connected directly to a BERTScope bit error rate tester.

With the BERTScopePC software installed on a Windows PC, and the stand-alone instrument connected to the PC via the standard USB interface, the BERTScopePC software will initiate installation of the appropriate driver and provide a user interface allowing control of all DPP or CR functions. The user interface provided for each instrument will be familiar to users of the BERTScope bit error rate tester, and includes access to the BERTScope help files.

Included in the installation is the BERTScope Remote Client application which provides for remote access to the BERTScopePC application. Also included is the CR firmware update tool.

Introduction
Welcome to the BERTScopePC Software Release Notes.  This document tracks the changes for each BERTScopePC Software Release.  Included in these release notes are details on all new features and enhancements, a list of resolved issues, and pointers for upgrading and error reporting.
Error Reporting
If you encounter a problem, please notify us with a problem report.  Please include all instrument settings and a detailed account of the steps leading up to the problem.  If you can reproduce the problem, please note that as well.

If possible, please attach the BERTScope Software configuration file to the report.  In the BERTScope PC Software, use Config -> Save Configuration to save the current configuration (the software will prompt for a filename).  Configuration files are stored in D:\Bitalyzer\Configurations and have a .cfg extension.  Please also attach the ISMsgs.log file.  This file can be found in the C:\ root directory.

BERTScopePC SW Installation Guide

1.Introduction
1.1.The setup program uninstalls the current version of the software and installs the new version.

2.Installation Procedure
2.1.Shut down the BERTScopePC application if it is running.

2.2.Download the BERTScopePC installation program to your local drive.

2.3.Double-click on Setup_BERTScopePC_10.x.x.exe  to launch the installation.

2.4.The first screen will be the InstallAware Wizard content verification screen.

2.5.Once verified the setup exe uninstalls the previous version. Click the next button when prompted.

2.6.After unistalling the previous version the setup exe will start the installation process. Click next on the following screen.
2.7.Click Next.
2.8.Click Next again.
2.9.The final step will prompt to finish installation.
