• Location Management
  - CN can request location on service area level of an UE
• Paging
  - CN pages a certain UE
• RAB Management
  - Assignment, modification, and release of radio access bearer(s) including queuing of RAB assignments
• Iu Release
  - Releases all resources connected to a specific Iu connection
• Direct Transfer of Messages
  - Direct Transfer of Messages
• SRNS Relocation and Handover
  - Allows RNC functionality, as well as related Iu resources, to change to another RNC; for example, RAB(s) and signaling connection to a specific UE
• SRNS Context forwarding
  - Transfer the SRNS contexts from a source RNC to CN (PS) in case of inter-system handover
• Security Mode
  - Send security keys (cipher and integrity keys) and start security mode functions
• Tracing
  - Trace a specific UE as well as deactivate this procedure
• Unsuccessful Transmission reporting
  - Data volume reporting of unsuccessful transmitted DL over UTRAN for specific RABs
  - Untransmitted PDUs may not be charged or will be retransmitted

• Load and Overload Management
  - Allows adjustment of the load on the Iu interface

  - Resets Iu interface thus resetting all existing connections
