PA4000 Recognized for Innovative Technology, Outstanding Features and Ease of Use
Beijing China, March 10, 2014 - Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that the PA4000 Power Analyzer has earned 2013 Product of the Year honors from Electronics Today Magazine and 21IC.com.
With the emergence of new power conversion technologies, engineers have struggled to perform critical current measurements with the necessary degree of precision and accuracy. The Spiral Shunt used in the PA4000 offer superior stability compared to other shunt technologies and contributes to the instrument's accuracy and repeatability over highly variable signal conditions.
"We evaluate and select winners for Product of the Year based on 3 criteria: innovative design, significant advancement in technology or application, and ease of use," said executive chief editor of Electronics Today Magazine. "The PA4000 Power Analyzer stands out from numerous products by offering highly accurate power, energy and efficiency measurement along with its ease of use, and is well deserved of this award."
Power analyzers such as the PA4000 are used by power electronics engineers for designing, testing and validating power electronics devices, primarily in multi-phase applications. Key industries include motor drives, electric propulsion, backup power, alternative energy, and high-efficiency lighting. Many of these engineers work on designs that are subject to government regulations and customer requirements that dictate efficiency and the amount of harmonic distortion or other "line pollution" that may be imposed on the power grid.
"It is an honor to be recognized by media and engineers in the industry and the Product of the Year award is a testament to our ongoing dedications to deliver industry leading products to our customers," said Felix Wong, Tektronix's Asia-Pacific Marketing Director. "With ease-of-use, application-specific test mode and a complete set of standard features, including communication interface and PC-based software, PA4000 is becoming the power analyzer product of choice in the industry."
