Ohms: What is the offset-compensated ohms function and why is it necessary?

Question :

Ohms: What is the offset-compensated ohms function and why is it necessary?

Answer :

In this mode, the SourceMeter instrument takes two measurements for each one that is displayed. Measurements are taken at the user-specified source value and at zero. The results of these two measurements are subtracted from each other to cancel out offsets within the test circuit. Note that, while this feature will increase the time required to take readings by at least 2X, it will generally improve measurement accuracy.
