The fast transmission data rate of today require differential transmission lines in order to maintain signal integrity. Impedance characterization is often the first step in designing and testing of these lines. This application note discusses these impedances and describes how Tektronix 8000B Series instruments are well equipped to take the measurements needed to characterize them.
