How do I use the dual monitor capability?

How do I calibrate the touch screen? The desktop has an icon (Configuration) for calibration of the touch screen. When you perform the calibration, please do obey when asked to wait for approximately 10sec. - touching the screen too soon will disturb the calibration algorithm.

Does the 8000 series support the NI USB-GPIBA controller? The 8000 and 8000B series instruments do support the National Instruments USB-GPIB controller (the USB-GPIB-A version is not supported). If you desire to use this controller, please read the release notes carefully as installing the wrong driver will necessitate several uninstall/reinstall cycles.

Can the Hard Disk (HD) be exchanged between different instruments?

The HD can be swapped between units with equivalent CPU board. Therefore the HD can be swapped between two units running Windows 2000. For instruments running Windows 98: They were shipped with one of two versions of the CPU boards.

Can I use a stylus pen to control the touch screen? Yes, two are provided with the standard accessories.

Can I change the windows display resolution and color?No, the built-in oscilloscope screen needs to stay at its default resolution and color to prevent problems. (Such as not be able to print the screen image.)

When should the waveform data base be used? Use waveform databases for measurements, histogram calculations, mask testing, and generating a density-style graded display. Waveform databases may be automatically allocated for measurements, histograms, and mask testing.

Slowest speed limitation in "internal clock?" Currently, when the timebase is run at a very slow speed (multiple TDR pulses visible) in "Internal Clock" trigger setting the instrument can on rare occasions display misplaced points after the 1st square edge. This is a known problem.
