What to do when the measurement result doesn't match expectations?

It is possible that signals with excessive jitter, noise, overshoot or other signal aberrations may cause the measurement system to report incorrect results. Care should be exercised when doing automated measurements on such signals.

What is the typical BW for the PLL in the Clock Recovery options? This depends on the module involved. For example the 80C08C-CR4 variable clock recovery is guaranteed to provide the PLL BW of less than 4MHz, a requirement of the 10GbE specification. Contact your nearest Tektronix office for details.

What is the SVGA output used for? This is used to display the windows or second monitor displays. This is activated through the windows display properties menu.

What is the Power-on behavior (restore power behavior)? The power-on behavior of the instrument is determined by the BIOS setting. From the factory, the CSA8000 and TDS8000 instrument requires a front panel power button push to power-up.

What is the operating system used?

In September 2003 the OS has been updated to Windows 2000 TM. Any new instruments are running this OS. The lowest oscilloscope SW which will run on Windows 2000 is Version 2.0.

What does "Optical Reference Receiver" mean? Standards. Each standard specifies a filter to be used that will show the data similar to what the receiver will see. This will reduce the effects of the transmitter�s high frequency overshoot and noise.
