Like most broadcast engineers today, the Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) is facing the move to video over IP. BCE mainly covers Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg but is able to serve customers in the United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, Africa, India and Asia.

Using Tektronix solutions – including our new PRISM solution, a real-time IP/SDI media monitoring and analysis platform – BCE has created a world-class media services installation. In terms of size and scope, it is fully video over IP-based and built on the SMPTE 2022-6 standard with SMPTE 2022-7 utilized for redundancy.

With this powerful workflow, BCE is able to serve about 400 clients in a wide variety of sectors, including television channels, radio stations, film distributors, producers, advertising companies, telecommunications operators and public services. PRISM also provides monitoring for high definition sources, allowing for playout for more than 35 television channels, each with unique needs such as OTT and 4K capability.
