SpIprobe Operations and Maintenance
This course teaches you the fundamentals of operating and maintaining the GeoProbe system. You will learn the SpIprobe hardware, software, system configuration files, and general maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. The course uses lectures and then you apply the knowledge using hands-on exercises. By the end of the course, you learn to remove and replace the SpIprobe hardware, configure specific system files, configure monitor ports and backup and restore GeoProbe files.

Who Should Attend This Course
Personnel responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of the SpIprobe hardware and software. Personnel attending this course should have a working knowledge of UNIX and the VI editor in order to perform the UNIX functions required for SpIprobe maintenance.
Prerequisites
GeoProbe User Course and a working knowledge of telecommunications systems and UNIX. Additionally, students may benefit from completing the GeoProbe Administration Course.

Recommendation
It is recommended that this course be conducted at a Tektronix Training facility. If on-site training is requested, it must be conducted on a fully operational GeoProbe Mobile system (some hands-on labs will be limited to lecture only, to avoid disrupting the in-service GeoProbe system).
