H500 Software Upgrade Archive File - English - V5.112

Archive file for upgrading the H500, Remote Server, Signal Database Editor, and Command Macro Tool SW applications (English localized versions). To upgrade the SW the archive file must first be copied to the H500. The H500's Module Upgrade utility can then be used to select this archive file, and perform the SW upgrade.

Prerequisites:

- An H500
- A 10 Mb or larger memory device (such as Compact Flash memory card or USB flash drive)
- A memory card-to-PCMCIA adapter (if using a memory card)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Power off the H500.

2. Unpack the ZIP file downloaded from the web. The archive contains this same Readme.txt file and the English localized version of the H500 SW upgrade archive file "SST_V5112_ENU_CE500_upgrade.arq".

3. Copy the H500 upgrade archive file to the root directory of the memory card or USB flash drive.

4. If using a memory card, insert the memory card into the PCMCIA adapter and insert the PCMCIA adapter into the PCMCIA adapter slot (on the right side of the instrument).

5. If using a USB flash drive, insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the top of the instrument.

6. Power on the instrument. Wait for the instrument to complete the power-on process.

7. On the instrument, select Start > Programs > Tektronix Utilities > Module Upgrade.

8. Follow the on-screen instructions.

9. When the application installation is done, the instrument prompts you to restart the instrument. Tap Restart Now.

10. Once the instrument has restarted and the power-on process has completed double-tap the H500 icon to start the application.
