Monitoring the edge of your network is important for catching modulation errors that could impact the quality of service you provide to your subscribers. Tektronix Sentry Edge product detects transport stream and RF modulation errors generated from equipment errors or failures. The transport stream errors may be related to the bandwidth/bit rate, embedded data, applications or to the video and audio.

Sentry Edge's dual tuner design provides maximum configuration and operating flexibility. For example, a user can use one tuner to constantly monitor carousel performance while using the other to cycle a number of channels in search of modulation and other transport stream errors.

Sentry Edge completes Tektronix' Source-to-Edge monitoring solution, which gives multichannel service providers a comprehensive view of the issues occuring throughout their network. With strategic locations monitored by Sentry, Sentry Verify and Sentry Edge units, service providers can use Medius to objectively monitor, assess and benchmark program quality from content acquisition to the edge of the network, just before it is sent to subscribers.
