As a serious experimenter and hobbyist I had always struggled with used or cheap test equipment that often consumed more time and energy than the projects I was working on. When the TDS2000 line came out I stretched my budget just a little and got a TDS2014. It is a quality product with everything I need. 4 channels means I can use it to look at timing in digital circuits where I might otherwise use a logic analyzer. Its storage and computer interface features make it extremely valuable for documenting an publishing projects. And of course it came with 4 high quality Tektronix probes. Even though it has many features, it is pretty intuitive to use. Triggering is rock solid and very flexible, and it has several real-time math features plus a DFT spectrum display that I was quite surprised to see in a scope at this price point. I've yet to have a display or triggering challenge that it couldn't handle.
My only wish is that it had a higher resolution screen, but that seems to add quite a bit to the price.
If you find yourself spending more time fixing cheap test equipment than actually developing projects like I was, do yourself a favor and pick up one of these. You won't regret it.
Yes, I recommend this product.
