Tektronix Y400/H500/SA2500/H600/SA2600 USB Slave Device Registration

The Tektronix Y400, H500, SA2500, H600, SA2600 instruments includes a slave USB device port that can be used for desktop to instrument connectivity using Microsoft's ActiveSync utility. Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7 or newer is required when used with these instruments. ActiveSync is available free of charge from Microsoft and can be downloaded via Microsoft's download page at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads.

Prior to establishing a USB port ActiveSync connection, the given instrument must be registered on the desktop PC as a valid USB slave device. This registration need only be performed once on each desktop PC to be used for USB port ActiveSync connections. To perform the registration, execute the RegisterUSBSlaveDevice.exe utility on the desktop PC. Upon successful completion of the registration process, a USB port ActiveSync connection can then be established between the instrument and the desktop PC. Depending upon the desktop PC's operating system, a USB connection wizard may be displayed during this first ActiveSync connection. If so, simply use the defaults for all connection wizard dialog prompts.

NOTE: This utility is not compatible with PC's running Windows Vista.

Installation
------------

1) Unpack the ZIP file downloaded from the web.
2) Run H500_SA2500_H600_SA2600_RegisterUSBSlaveDevice_WinXPsetup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions provided by the installation wizard.
