Taiwan Tigers Swim in Annual Carnival of Sun Moon Lake
On September 23, members of Tektronix' Taiwan office took to the water in the annual Swimming Carnival of Sun Moon Lake, a 3K (1.8-mile) race held during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Sun Moon Lake
is the largest natural lake in Taiwan and a popular tourist attraction. It derives its name from its unique shape. The eastern part of the lake is round like the sun, while the western part is shaped like a crescent moon.
The annual Carnival draws more than 20,000 swimmers and 1,000 teams from around the world. This was the first time Tektronix registered a team for the event.
To prepare, the Tek team swam three to five hours every week after work during August. Training increased in early September, with intense day-long workouts on the weekends.
"It was an honor to have wonderful partners," said Stacy, marketing communications specialist. "We shared trust, companionship, and confidence, which made the whole journey very easy and exciting."
