Neil Clayton

Neil Clayton

Neil Clayton first joined Tektronix as part of the company's summer engineering internship program, while a student at Oregon State University. After graduation in 2005, he was hired on full-time as a mechanical design engineer.

"I had a very positive internship experience, with the opportunity to work with talented people," says Neil. "I was particularly impressed with the company culture, and felt like I could fit in well."

In a few short years, Neil's work has made a positive impact on the development of several major Tektronix products. His accomplishments include the design of some 30 parts on the Performance Scope Product Line platform. He also held responsibility for the front panel, VPI interface, and attenuator board of the new Value Scope Product Line platform and several components for the new logic analyzer program.

"My peers are an amazing collection of people," Neil adds. "There is so much knowledge and support to draw from; it's the perfect position to be in as a young developing engineer."

Chad Gilliland

Chad Gilliland

Chad Gilliland is a promising engineer with strong leadership potential.

Chad joined Tektronix after completing his master's and bachelor's degrees at Montana State University.

"My wife and I really liked the Portland area and saw Tektronix as an industry-leading company with a storied history and a lot of future promise," Chad comments. "The culture of Tektronix is fun and exciting and provides tremendous opportunities for personal and professional development."

As a 2007 Tektronix President's Award Winner, Chad has proven his ability to juggle a wide variety of project assignments within manufacturing, and improve methods and reduce costs in the process.

He has served as the lead for the evaluation, selection, and purchasing of capital equipment to support the initiative that is transforming Tektronix' production of circuit boards to comply with lead-free manufacturing environmental standards.

Chad mentors two new engineers, is responsible for all soldering processes in the board build assembly, and has helped drive the implementation of Oracle Manufacturing for Tektronix' manufacturing operations in China.

Ina Ni

Ina Ni

Ina Ni is a software design engineer for Tektronix' Network Management United Assurance team in Richardson, Texas.

When she joined Tektronix three years ago, Ina had no experience in telecommunication technologies. However, with a passion for excellence and zeal to learn she quickly established herself and now is responsible for designing NodeB and cell reset tracking, a complex 3G network traffic scenario.

"I enjoy the team concept at Tektronix," says Ina. "Everyone is in the same boat, and everyone has to grab an oar and put their backs into [a project] to reach the finish line. When one person is struggling for whatever reason, there's always someone close by to lend a helping hand.

"In addition, the people aren't just my co-workers," she continues, "they're my friends -- people I can joke with, laugh with, and have fun with."

Ina's work has supported several major customer accounts across multiple geographic regions. And she's made significant contributions to the UTRAN (radio technology) project as a tester and developer. Of particular note, her NodeB and cell reset tracking design has resulted in a patent disclosure -- an outstanding feat for a young engineer.

Ina graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with degrees in computer science and software engineering.
