I use this probe when there is a need to capture high speed signals. When default oscilloscope probe is used the high speed signals usually look somewhat distorted. Probably, it is due to high probe capacitance and long ground lead. When this is the case, I switch to my Active FET probe. It works perfectly for these cases.
