IP Connectivity

As transport stream delivery has expanded beyond satellite, cable, and terrestrial, a need for analyzing and recording transport streams over Internet Protocol has arrived. The MTS400 Series provides the ability to acquire a transport stream from the network by using specific address and port values. Transport stream packets are then time-stamped and processed in real-time to provide all of the common timing, semantic, and syntactic measurements. The MTS400 Series provides the following:

Dual Ports - Each unit is configured with a 10/100 Base T port for LAN support, and a 10/100/1000 Base T port for GigE transport analysis. The analyzer can choose from either port for selecting a transport stream being delivered over IP.

Easy Setup - Configurations can be created for quick and easy recall of the IP addresses and ports.

Auto Discovery - The IP input port GUI provides a live display of all traffic on the network. The table can be easily sorted to simplify the selection of IP addresses and ports.

Analysis - Transport packets delivered over IP are time-stamped by the MTS400 Series Transport Stream Compliance Analyzer (TSCA) application in order to provide precise timing measurements of sections, PCR's, and PTS's. Accurate time-stamps also provide the means to make bit rate measurements on any PID. The transport packets can be analyzed and recorded in the same manor as streams from ASI, SMPTE310M, and SPI LVDS. The MTS4SA TSCA application provides optional standalone software to run in real-time using a PC and a Network Interface Card (NIC).
