Node-B Application Part (NBAP)
Functions
-
Cell Configuration Management
- Gives CRNC possibility to manage cell configuration information in a Node-B -
Common Transport Channel Management
- Gives the CRNC the ability to manage configuration of Common Transport Channels in a Node-B - System Information Management
-Gives CRNC the ability to manage scheduling of System Information to be broadcast in a cell - Resource Event Management
- Gives the Node-B the ability to inform CRNC about status of Node-B resources - Configuration Alignment
- Gives CRNC and Node-B the ability to verify that both nodes have same information on configuration of radio resources - Measurements on Common Resources
- Allows CRNC to initiate measurements in Node-B
- Allows Node-B to report result of measurements - Synchronization Management (TDD)
- Allows CRNC to manage synchronization of a TDD cell in a Node-B - Radio Link Management
- Allows CRNC to manage radio links using dedicated resources in a Node-B - Radio Link Supervision
- – Allows CRNC to report failures and restorations of a Radio Link - Measurements on Dedicated Resources
- Allows CRNC to initiate measurements in Node-B
- Also allows Node-B to report result of measurements - DL Power Drifting Correction (FDD)
- Allows CRNC to adjust DL power level of one or more Radio Links in order to avoid DL power drifting between Radio Links - Reporting general error situations
- Allows reporting of general error situations, for which function specific error messages have not been defined - NBAP common procedures
- Request initiation of a UE context for a specific UE in Node-B or are not related to a specific UE
- NBAP common procedures also incorporate logical O&M procedures - NBAP dedicated procedures
- Related to a specific UE context in Node-B
- UE context is identified by a UE context identity
