TekScope®Video Trigger

Video signals are nearly impossible to trigger on with simple edge triggering. TekScope's "Video Trigger" is specially designed to provide a stable trigger on a wide variety of video signals.

Untriggered video signal

Pressing the "Trigger Menu" button, then by using the LEFT bezel button, you can set the trigger type to "Video".

Set trigger type to
          Video

Press the fourth bezel button, and use the ± rocker to select the scan rate of your signal. TekScope supports rates of 15-20 kHz (broadcast), 20-25 kHz, 25-35 kHz, 35-50 kHz, and 50-65 kHz.

Select the appropriate
          scan rate.

Press the third bezel button, and you are presented with more trigger controls. You can choose which field you'd like to trigger on (Odd, Even, or Any), and even specify a particular line within that field, using the ± rocker. Or, you can just trigger on any line in any field.

Select a line and field to
          trigger on.

Now that you have a stable trigger, you can see what your video signal really looks like. If you want more detail, you can use the delay timebase feature to zoom in on a particular part of the signal.

Now, you've got a stable \
          trigger!
